SAFE-FIRE

SAFE-FIRE
Flame Detection & Control System

Safe-Fire, a leading flame detection and control system company for boilers had engineered a new prototype control system and requested TXS to repackage the products in an aesthetic, functional and distinct system. The scope of the project involved developing a unique product brand identity and packaging unique devices for the system and components. TXS was responsible for conceptual design of the major appearance, and interface components of the device including, Overall cabinets, small and large pcb housings, fascia covers and graphics, mounting hardware, electrical interface, cable management devices, overall user access, informational, and identity design in accordance with Safe-Fire provided specifications and requirements.

POWR-FLITE

POWR-FLITE
Carpet Extractor

Powr-Flite engaged TXS for the design of a full size extractor for commercial floor cleaning. The scope of the industrial design effort involved concept and detail industrial design of the components based on Powr-Flite provided baseline form factor and component specification. Multiple concepts were presented and after selection of several, the concept was refined into a direction for detail mechanical design and prototyping. TXS worked closely with the in-house Mechanical Engineers to develop data robust for further refinement.

VANNEVAR

VANNEVAR
Memex MRI System

Start-up company, Vannevar and Lux Imaging had developed sophisticated heart imaging software with a clarity that surpassed with the Goliaths of the MRI imaging industry, among them GE & Philips. In order to compete in the market, Vannevar needed an MRI design that communicated the important technology enhancements that had been developed. The company had integrated their technology into an existing magnet purchased overseas, but needing a fresh, inviting design to showcase the new heart imaging software to investors. Vannevar understood the impact industrial design can make on a startup product and engaged TXS for the industrial design, and short run production. The scope of the industrial design involved concept design through final detail design of the components. TXS was responsible for the industrial and mechanical design of the front cover to improve the aesthetic, integrate touch screen control and equipment housing of the MRI device. TXS sourced and managed the fiberglass production of ten initial units.

BRANDSTAND

BRANDSTAND

Baby Bottle Organizer

TXS assisted an inventor with the design of a baby bottle organizer. The intent was to develop recognizable brand identity into the product design.

TEXAS INSTRUMENTS

TEXAS INSTRUMENTS
Mobile Development Platform

TXS collaborated with TI to develop the next generation OMAP Development Platform Product- OMAP 6 Tablet. The design intent was to create a consumer-styled product for Texas Instruments to use as a tool to sell the OMAP 6 chip technology to their mobile Android customers. The challenge was to maintain the aesthetic and form factor, while accommodating all the additional features that a development platform requires – including multiple cameras antennas (7 total), extra connectors, pcb layout, microphones, speaker arrays, etc. TXS successful designed a thin, aesthetically pleasing package while incorporating many more components than the typical consumer tablet.

Stryker

Stryker
LED Surgical Lamp

Stryker has a fully capable engineering department to implement design concepts, but needed industrial design direction for their new low cost Clinical LED Surgical Lamp. TXS was engaged to explore multiple concepts and offer innovative solutions for packaging optical components and several housing components including, cover lens, front ring, back housing, cardanic armature, handles, and overall aesthetic/functional details. The result of the exercise was 7 concepts presented to Stryker for discussion and to be narrowed to a direction for further refinement.
